I am NOT a Disney fanatic

Let me get that right out in the open.  I am honestly not a big Disney fan.  I don't have a room dedicated to Mickey Mouse (or even a shelf of knickknacks!), I don't own every Disney movie (I don't even have all the classics!), and I don't dress head to toe in red, white and black.  In fact I think I only have two sweatshirts and three hats from WDW.

AND YET, I absolutely love Walt Disney World in Florida.  I don't know what it is about that place, but I just adore it.  The details, the cleanliness, the happy and helpful people.  Yeah, pretty much everything.  And it doesn't hurt that the rollercoasters are pretty much as much as I can handle.  So, even after taking a trip with the boys last year, I had the urge to go again this year and so back we are going.  We're even staying at the same resort - Wilderness Lodge.

Now I am fully convinced that part of what I love about a Disney vacation is the planning.  I'm a  planner/researcher by nature, so the kind of vacation that inspires "crowd calendars" and "touring plans" is right up my alley.

With that in mind, my current Disney vacation planner/memory book should make perfect sense.

Cover:

Front Page - note the journaling cards on the left and the package of colored washi tapes on the right:

Each day has a divider featuring the logo of the park we plan to visit that day:

Each day has two pages with little sections for ADRs, plans and thoughts about the day.  Each one features a park logo at 20% transparency behind the words:

I plan to use this book as a mini-scrapbook, so I printed pages to use for sticking things like maps, tickets, receipts, tags, all the stupid little things that I can't seem to throw away but also can't seem to find a place for.  I'll use the journaling cards to write little blurbs here and there and may even add pictures after we get home.  I did a gorgeous blurb.com album for our vacation last year so this would just house a few special pictures.

We are part of the My Magic FastPass+ testing so touring plans actually were sort of necessary.  Last time we just had a general idea of which parts of the park we'd hit in what order.  Since we're going in September, I don't anticipate really needing a "plan", but having the FP+ times noted will be useful.  I put these in page protectors so that I can carry them in my bag to the parks.

I also have all of our dining reservations printed and housed in a page protector.

I've really enjoyed putting all of this together and now I can't wait to put it to use!

    I LOVE it.
I made a Project Life style travel journal for our trip next week. In fact, I need to get back to work to finish up the last two pages!
I'm going to pin this album for next time!
    Thanks for sharing it.
    xoxo,
    Becca

  5. How do you split images between two pages?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Thanks for the comments! Elizabeth, the pages are printed on 8.5x11.5 size paper and then cut in half, so for images that span a two-page layout in the planner, I just had the image sized to fit the full printed page.
